Sherri Monique Willis was born on December 7, 1978 in Gary, IN to Charles and Sylvia Brackett Willis. On Sunday, April 22, 2018, GOD proclaimed the end of her earthly sojourn and called her to be with HIM. Sherri graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1997, and the Cleveland Job Corps in 1998, where she became a certified welder by trade.

Sherri served her community in several capacities, however her love for Christ, family and cars in that order were most important to her. Under the guidance of the Rev. William H. Thomas, Sherri confessed her love for Christ and surrendered unto Him at the early age of nine.

Sherri was preceded in death by grandparents, Rufus and Otis Mae Brackett, Claude and Robina Willis and by several aunts and uncles. Left to cherish her memory are parents, Sylvia and Charles; fiancé, Mark Simmons; sister, Nicole Willis; brothers, Denzel Willis, and Curtis Shorts; nieces, Toiyanda Lucious, Shamaria Lucious, and Eboney Elder; nephews, Curtis II and Curtis III Shorts; aunts; Lois Johnson, Janet Douglas, Myrtle Cross, Otis Sewood, and Patricia Jones; uncle, Michael Brackett; many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be on Friday, April 27, 2018 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. with Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev.

James E. Pope officiating in the Main Chapel at the Ridgelawn Funeral Home, 4201 West Ridge Road, Gary, IN 46408 (219) 980-5555. Sherri will be dearly missed by her loving family and precious friends. May God Grant Her Eternal Rest.
