DENNEY, SHERRIE (RUMMEL), 56 OF BLAIRSVILLE, PA passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at UPMC East, Monroeville, PA. She was born September 23, 1962 in Indiana, PA. She was a member of the Summit Church, Indiana, PA.

She had worked at Torrance State Hospital as a Psychiatric Aide. Sherrie was a 1980 graduate of Blairsville High School. She was attending Westmoreland County Community College before her illness, where she was on the Deans List working to obtain her Nursing Degree.

She was a social member of the VFW Post #5821 & the Blairsville Eagles #1488. Sherrie was a die hard Steelers fan, enjoyed going to concerts, watching scary movies and spending time with her family. She is survived by her mother, Karen Sherman, Blairsville, PA; father, Jack Rummel & wife, Dorothy, Homer City, PA; daughter, Shawna Cody Washington & husband, Zane, Bartlesville, OK; daughter, Shanie Denney, Blairsville, PA; grandchildren: Fallon & Gracen Washington; sister, Lori Ewing & husband, Don, Blairsville, PA; brother, Jason Rummel, OK and also several Nieces & Nephews.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Ben & Dot Crede and paternal grandparents, Sheldon & Thelma Rummel. In keeping with Sherrie’s wishes, there will be no viewing. The family will receive friends at the James F. Ferguson Funeral Home, Inc., Blairsville, PA on Sunday, March 17, 2019 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

A celebration of Sherrie’s life will be held at 3PM in the Funeral Home. Pastor Richard Motzing will officiate. The family requests that you wear your favorite Steelers gear, if possible, to the service.
