Sherry Lynn Lundell March 31, 1961 – February 22, 2019 Creston Sherry Lundell passed away Friday, February 22, 2019 at the age of 57 in her hometown of Creston, Illinois. Born March 31, 1961 to Joe and Joyce (Smith) Whitaker. Sherry was a very talented gardener all throughout her life and took pride in her flowers that surrounded her home.

When she wasn’t tending to her flowers, she was most likely collecting some much needed Kohl’s cash. One thing Sherry was so proud of and was always talking about to anyone and everyone was her girls. ( Kelley 39, Jessica 37, Cora 23, Demi 21).

Not a day would go by without her talking to or visiting one of her girls. One word that comes to mind when we think of Sherry would be “loving”. It didn’t matter if you were related or not, you were welcomed into her life with arms wide open.

Sherry loved her “grand babies” as she would say more than anything. She always knew just what to say, and frequently showed up with special gifts for all seven of them. Sherry’s girls have said, “If there is one thing that Mom has taught us, it was to be strong and independent.

Just like she would always tell us ‘it’s going to be okay, baby’. Well Mom, we are all going to try our best to be just that”. Sherry will be missed and survived by her mother, Joyce Whitaker, sister, Lisa (Mark) Borseth, brother, Joey Whitaker, her four children: Kelley (Josh) Kapraun, Jessica (Jason) Shull, Cora (Jed) Stone, Demi Smith (Kentrick Hahn), and her grandchildren: Daniel Terry, Isaiah, Lily, and Skye Kapraun, Nathan, Serenity, and Joseph Shull.

A memorial service will be held at the Opera House in Creston on Friday, March 1, 2019 at 10:30am. Cremation care has been provided by the Unger-Horner Funeral Home. Visit www.
