Shirley A. Mattingly, 80, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 3, 2019 at Green Valley Care Center in New Albany, Indiana. She was born on April 6, 1938 to George and Lonnie Cooper in Casey County, Kentucky. Shirley was a home maker, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Bert Mattingly, Jr., her son, Gary Mattingly, Sr. Shirley was also preceded by 2 brothers, and 4 sisters. Survivors include her son, Rick Mattingly (Jennifer Middleton) of Sellersburg, daughter, Debbie Miles of Jeffersonville, Robert Cooper (Juanita) of North Carolina, her sisters, Beatrice Tassel of Georgia and Edith Fern Hall of Kentucky. Shirley also leaves behind 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Jennifer Middleton for her role as care giver to Shirley. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with interment to follow at Silver Creek Cemetery in Sellersburg. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Wednesday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
