Shirley A. Koth (Melius), age 87 years of Kettle Moraine Gardens in Kewaskum went home to be with her Lord on Monday, July 30, 2018. She was born July 22, 1931 on a farm in the Town of Scott to Lowell and Elvera (Staege) Melius. After graduating from Kewaskum High School in 1949 where she was Valedictorian, she worked at the Bank of Kewaskum.
She married Ralph Koth on August 5, 1950 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Town of Scott. Ralph died July 2, 2014. She was active for many years at church as a Choir member, Sunday School Teacher, and member of the Women’s Guild.
Shirley and Ralph lived in Beechwood until October 1965, when they purchased a home in Kewaskum. In 1966 she started working for Orv Behnke (Equitable) Insurance and retired after 25 years of service. She bowled for many years, was a former Red Hat member, worked at the Election Polls, played Sheepshead with several clubs for many years, did crossword puzzles every day, loved sports and politics.
Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family and her great love of Jesus. Those Shirley leaves behind to cherish her memory; four sons, Perry (Joann) Koth of Kewaskum, Randall Koth of Milwaukee, Rev. Jeffrey (Kristine) Koth of Lindenhurst, IL, and Scott Koth of Round Lake, IL; nine grandchildren, Christopher (Chrissy) Koth, Curtis (Nicole) Koth, Sarah (Jason) Fox, Lindsay (Dan) Haumschild, Jennifer (Drew) Nys, Brandon Koth, Brian (Megan) Koth, Alexis Koth and Anna Koth; 13 great-grandchildren, Chloe, Samuel, Madeline, Hailee, Jacob, Michael, Leah, Lauren, Calyope, Veda, Charlotte, Isadora and Odette; one brother-in-law, Kenneth (Carol) Koth; nephew, Terry (Lori) Koth; niece, Shary (John) Witte.
In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley was preceded in death by her parents-in-law, Alfred and Erna Koth. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 3, 2018 – 3PM at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Town of Scott (1. 5 miles straight south of Beechwood on Hwy A, then Hwy HH – or – from West Bend north on Hwy 144 to Hwy 28, left on Hwy 28, less than a mile and then right on Paradise Rd.
