Shirley Ann Hessler, 59, of Hutchinson, Kansas, formerly of Calamus, Iowa, died Sunday evening, April 29, 2018, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Blue Springs, Missouri. She was born December 7, 1958, in Calamus to George and Jeanette (Werner) Hessler and attended Calamus Schools. Shirley married Ronald Horton and the couple resided in Clinton where they raised their family.

She moved to Hutchinson where she employed by the Atrium Hotel. Shirley loved her family dearly and cherished time spent with her grandkids. Surviving are children, Jillian (David) Behr of Blue Springs, Johnathon Horton of Topeka, Kansas, Jeramie (Stacey) Horton of Hutchinson; her mother, Jeanette Wixon of Micco, Florida; grandchildren, Taylor, Faith and Brandon Horton, C.J and Mason Smith and Kylee Douglas; great-grandchildren, Logan and Sage Douglas; siblings, Randie Hessler of Casper, Wyoming, David (Joanne) Hessler, Sr. of Valley Center, Kansas and Jackie Litty of Clarence, Iowa; nieces and nephews.

Preceding Shirley in death were a son, Collin Horton and a daughter, Joyce Horton. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Rose Hill Cemetery, Calamus. Pastor Denise Anderberg will officiate and interment will follow.
