Shirley Berry King, 71, of Florence, passed away December 9, 2018 at Mitchell-Hollingsworth. She was the former president of the American Legion; leader of the Democratic Party for several years; one of the first female carpenters in Local #1205; and an LPN. Visitation will be held today, Wednesday December 12, 2018 from 5-8 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home.

Mrs. King was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Eula I. Berry; daughter, Lora Berry; infant sister, Margarett Sue Berry. She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Dennis King; sons, John-Douglas Christian, and Anthony King (Susanne); daughters, Elizabeth King, Mattie Ann Pruitt (Tommy); brother, Jimmy Stults; grandchildren, Tara Crews (Josh), Lindsey Black (Kyle), Denny Barnett, Savannah Sanders, Brenson Berry (Jessica), and Callie King; and 14 great-grandchildren. A special thank you to Community Care Hospice for the care and love shown to Mrs. King and her family.
