Shirley Dean Grant May 13, 1937 – May 12, 2019 Share this obituary View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Shirley Dean Grant, 81, of Macon, MO, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2019, at the Samaritan Hospital in Macon, MO. Shirley was born on May 13, 1937, the daughter of Lawrence and Mable (Range) Carter. She was united in marriage to Rodney Alden Grant on December 24, 1956 in Macon.

Shirley was an active member of the Holy Trinity Church of Macon. She enjoyed playing the piano and singing, cooking, painting, going to craft fairs, traveling to California to visit family, and spending time with her family and friends. Shirley is survived by her son, Kym Grant of Altadena, CA; two grandchildren, Destiny Grant of Pasadena, CA, and Monique Scott of Pasadena, CA; one great-grandchild, McKenzie Scott of Columbia, MO; and other extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Rodney on May 14, 2009, and one daughter, Darcel Grant. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm, Saturday, May 18, 2017, at the Holy Trinity Church in Macon with Rev. Jeffery Green officiating.

Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Macon. Visitation will be from 11:00 am, until the time of the service, at the church. The family suggest memorials to the Holy Trinity Church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hutton & McElwain Funeral Home in Macon, MO.
