Shirley H. Norem, 86, went home to be with the Lord on February 1, 2019, surrounded by her loving family and close friends. Born on December 5, 1932, she was a lifelong resident of Iowa, and seasonal resident of Pinellas Park. Shirley was an instrumental part of operating family businesses over the years, but her true passion was being a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

As a devout Christian, she was active in her church in Iowa, Fellowship Baptist for many years and attended Starkey Road Baptist in Florida. Hobbies included sewing, cooking, gardening, and anything that included time with her family. She loved animals, with a special love for birds and dogs.

She is survived by her best friend and husband of 68 years, Don, her children, Chris (Connie) Norem, Kathy (Dan) Gartin, Toni (Scott) Bright, and a foster daughter Beverly (Perry) Wolff; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren, and 2 great, great grandchildren. A visitation is scheduled on Monday, February 4th at 4pm, followed by a celebration of life ceremony at The Point Church, 1430 Belleair Rd, Clearwater, FL 33756, officiated by Pastor Branson Rogers. A memorial service will be held in Des Moines, IA at a later date.
