Obituary for Shirley J. Prosser Dateline: Holiday Shores Shirley J. Prosser, 80, of Edwardsville, passed away on Tuesday, December 25, 2018, at Bethalto Care Center. She was born June 26, 1938, in Bell City, MO, the daughter of Troy N. and Lora E. (nee Sheppard) Patton. She married Zane Lee Prosser in Cottage Hills, on October 5, 1958.

He survives. Shirley worked at 1st National Bank in Wood River. She was also a receptionist in the superintendent’s office for Bethalto School District for 21 years, as well as a Cub Scout Den Mother for 6 years.

Shirley was also a member of the 1st Assembly of God Church of East Alton. Her hobbies included quilt making, sewing, hiking, cake decorating, attending bluegrass music festivals and spending time with her family. Along with her husband, Shirley is survived by her 3 children, Steven (Kay) Prosser of Bethalto, Daniel (Ellen) Prosser of Colrain, MA, and Michael (Pam) Prosser of Granite City; 2 brothers, Darrell (Carol) Patton of Springdale, AR and Roy (Linda) Patton of Wood River; 2 grandchildren, Zach (Heather) Prosser and Lindsey (Luke) Greene; and 2 great-grandchildren, Zoe Prosser and Jonathan Prosser.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Troy Patton. Visitation will be from 2 pm to 5 pm on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto, where services will be held at 10 am on Monday, December 31, 2018. Pastor Tim Keller will officiate.
