OBITUARY Sidney Irwin Levinson July 8, 1935 – September 10, 2018 Play Tribute Movie Sidney Irwin Levinson, Educator, Scholar, Father, Grandfather, passed away Monday, September 10, 2018 after a courageous battle with MS. Born in Winnipeg, Canada, Sidney attended the University of Manitoba and Columbia University. He tutored students in New York City before retiring and moving to North Carolina ten years ago to be near family.

Sidney was born July 8, 1935 and was the son of the late Benjamin and Peggy Levinson. He was a member of Temple Beth Shalom. He is survived by his son, Jonathan Levinson and daughter-in-law Laura; grandchildren, Benjamin and Sarah Levinson; sisters, Bernice Greenberg and husband Percy, Rebecca Shuman and husband David; and former spouse, Dorthy Levinson A private Graveside service will be held at a later date.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 11, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Catawba Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to nationalmssociety.org or to the Hickory Day School at 2535 21st Ave NE Hickory, NC 28601. Condolences may be left at www.
