Sr. Dorothy Ruth Varga, S.D.R., age 87, passed away on Thursday, September 27, 2018 in the Divine Redeemer Motherhouse in Elizabeth Twp. Born February 10, 1931 in Cleveland, OH, she was a daughter of the late John and Therese Mary (Yambor) Varga. Sr. Dorothy was a Professed Sister of the Divine Redeemer for 66 years.

She earned her BS in Education, MA in Education in Guidance and Counselling, and an MA in Education as Director in Religious Education and also obtained her Parish Social Ministry Certification. Sr. Dorothy was a CCD Director, elementary teacher, and parish social minister. In her spare time she enjoyed handiwork, puzzles, and was an avid dog lover.

Sr. Dorothy is survived by her Sisters in Community; her sister-in-law Doris Varga; her three nieces, eight nephews, three great-nieces, eleven great-nephews, two great-great-nieces, and four great-great nephews. Friends will be received in the Divine Redeemer Motherhouse on Monday, October 1, 2018 from 4 to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at 10 AM in the Motherhouse chapel with Fr.

Thomas Kirby officiating. Interment will follow on the grounds in the Divine Redeemer Cemetery. Arrangements by the Daniel F. Bekavac Funeral Home and Crematory, Versailles.
