Brian Buettner, Pastor officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens under direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.

Jed Eric Fisher, age 53, Lawton, died Friday, December 21, 2018 at his residence. He was born December 7, 1965 in Portsmouth, Ohio to Seldon Solomon and Nancy R. (Bowling) Fisher. He grew up in Manchester, Ohio and was a graduate of Manchester High School.

He was involved in Boy Scouts and became an Eagle Scout. He attended King College in Bristol, Tennessee a few semesters before joining the U.S. Army. He later earned a BA in English at Cameron University with a minor in Professional Writing.

Jed served in the military for 24 years and his awards include the Army Commendation Medal (4th Award), Army Achievement Medal (5th Award), Army Good Conduct Medal (6th Award), National Defense Service Medal (2nd Award), South West Asia Service Medal with Bronze Service Star (3rd Award), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon (7th Award), the Kuwait Liberation Medal (Saudi Arabia) and the Kuwait Liberation Medal (Kuwait). Following his retirement from the Army, Jed applied his passion for storytelling and became a published writer. He penned several books in the genre of Military Fiction.

He is survived by his wife, of the home; step-son, Chong “Russ” Essenmacher and his wife Susan, Los Angeles, California; two grandchildren, Jonathan and Grace Essenmacher; his mother, Nancy R. Fisher, Manchester, Ohio; brother and sister-in-law, Seldon Andrew and Debbie Fisher, Greeneville, Tennessee; sisters and brothers-in-law, Cynthia N. Fisher, Manchester, Ohio, Ruth A. and Jay Hallgarth, Milford, Ohio, Aimee J. Sundeen, Manchester, Ohio, Julie L. and Garry Wilkinson, Manchester, Ohio and L. Rachel Fisher, Milford, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews. His father and a brother, James Hampton Fisher, preceded him in death.
