Stanley Keith Stalder, 85, of Humboldt, passed away October 5, 2018, in Humboldt, Nebraska. He was born on June 19, 1933, in rural Humboldt, Nebraska to the late Olin and Margaret (Bucher) Stalder. Stanley was raised on the family farm, attended Pleasant Hill country school and graduated from Humboldt High School with the Class of 1951.

After graduating, he began his farming career with his father and later farmed with his brother. On August 10, 1958, Stanley was united in marriage to Eilene Hullman at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Falls City. To this union two children, Marcia and Darwin were born.

The couple established their home on a farm south of Humboldt in the Four-Mile community where they farmed and raised their children. In 1992, the couple moved into Humboldt where Stanley continued to farm and also sold crop insurance for many years, retiring in 2013. Stanley was a life-long member of the Four-Mile Congregational Church, south of Humboldt.

He served on the Farmer’s Co-op Elevator Board in Sabetha, Kansas for nine years during the 1980’s. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who devoted his life to his family. Stanley enjoyed farming, raising livestock and spending time with his family and friends.

He was especially fond of horses. Stanley is survived by his loving wife Eilene Stalder of Humboldt; daughter, Marcia (Rick) Willet of Lincoln; son Darwin (Cindy) Stalder of Humboldt; grandsons: Brian (Michelle) Willet of Bennet; Jason (Heather) Willet of Lincoln; Dustin Stalder of Humboldt and fiancé Emily Weaver of Falls City; granddaughters: Melissa (Peter) Barber of Kalispell, MT; Ashley Stalder of Humboldt; Jamie Stalder of Plattsburg, MO; Laura Stalder of Humboldt; great-grandchildren: Asher and Zara Willet of Bennet; Grayson and Paxson Barber of Kalispell, MT; Hudson and Finnick Willet of Lincoln; a sister Marlene Shelton of Topeka, KS; sister-in-law Alice Stalder of Humboldt; brother-in-law Delmer Hullman of Salem, NE. Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Gordon and Kenneth Stalder, and brothers-in-law Stephen Shelton, and Lawrence (Bonnie) Hullman.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 10, 2018, at the Four-Mile Congregational Church, rural Humboldt, Nebraska with Pastors Howard Blecha and Peter Barber officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 9, 2018, at The Wherry Mortuary in Humboldt, Nebraska. Family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m. at the mortuary.

Interment will be in the Four-Mile cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the family’s choice with a later designation. Condolences can be shared online at www.
