OBITUARY Stanley Short July 26, 1979 – July 27, 2018 Stanley ‘Stan’ Short of the Mulberry Gap Community, gave up the ghost on July 27, 2018 one day after his 39th birthday. Stan was saved when he was 20 years old. He was a faithful member of Alanthus Hill Baptist Church for the past three and a half years.

Stan loved the Lord with all of his heart. He loved being at church and helping in any way he could. Stan had a great love for our little church on the hill and the people who attended.

Stan was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, maternal grandfather, and Mother-in-law Cathy Greer, whom he loved dearly. Left to mourn: His loving wife Amanda Greer Short. Children: Patrick, Mackenzie and Baby Short due March 3, 2019.

Stan and I found out on July 2, 2018 (Our 14th wedding anniversary) that we were expecting our third child. Stan was beyond excited he was going to be a dad again! Father-in-law: Jimmy ‘Moe’ Greer.

Brother-in-law: Steven Greer and wife Katie and son Clark. Father and Mother: H and June Short. Sisters and Brothers-in-law: Carolyn Hurst and husband Keith, Judy Williams and husband Johnny.

A host of other relatives and friends. Special friends: Matthew Skellinger, Bobby Hounshell and Mike Anderson. Stan was well loved in the Mulberry Gap and Alanthus Hill Communities.

All who knew him are broken hearted, especially our little church family. Amanda’s family and extended family welcomed Stan to the family with open arms. They loved him deeply and are saddened by this tragedy.

Preachers: Our Pastor and dear friend Rev. Ryan Martin and Rev. Jerry ‘Turtle’ Ramsey, also a dear friend of Stan’s Singers: Bobbie Bernard, Anestin Dalton and Merissa Meade Pallbearers: Matthew Skellinger, Bobby Hounshell, Mike Anderson, Dale Hughes, John McDaniel, Steven Greer, Patrick Short and Mackenzie Short Honorary Pallbearers: Jimmy Greer and his work family at Summers Taylor The family will receive friends Wednesday August 1st from 4 until 9 PM at Coffey Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be Thursday August 2nd at 1 PM in the Coffey Funeral Home Chapel. The graveside service will follow in The Greer Family Cemetery. Coffey Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
