Stella Mae Wofford was born August 13, 1923 to Hershel and Estelle (Grammer) Tabor. She passed away September 29, 2018 in Oklahoma City at the age of 95. Stella was raised in Joplin, Missouri one of five children.

She married James Alec Wofford in 1946 and together raised two children, Steven and Vicky. She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening iris’s and vegetables, cooking, canning, fishing and watching birds. If anyone ever left her house hungry, it was their own fault.

Stella was a caregiver who loved caring for babies of anyone in need. She was a simple lady who loved her family and her church. Stella was preceded in death by her parents; husband and love of her life, James Wofford; son, Steven Wofford; siblings, Rex Tabor, Imogene Cassidy, Bud Tabor, Doris (Jo Bob) Roberts; and grandson, Aaron Fry.

Survivors include her daughter, Vicky Fry (Frank) of Newalla; daughter-in-law, Barbara Wofford of Wellston; (3) grandchildren, David Hart (Linda Brown), Collin Fry, Stacey Russell (Travis); (2) great-grandchildren, James Hart, Braden Wofford. A graveside funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at the Arlington Memory Gardens Cemetery in Oklahoma City. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
