Memorial Visitation Friday, May 24, 2019 4-6 PM at Hamp Funeral Home Stephen J. Fezer, Jr., age 93, of the Town of Wheatfield, died Monday, May 20, 2019 at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital in Amherst. Born December 2, 1925 in Depew, he was the son of the late Stephen and Magdalene (nee Ambrusko) Fezer and was a Marine Corps Veteran of WWII and the Korean War. Stephen had worked at the family business, Fezer’s Market, in North Tonawanda as a young man.

He earned his BA in Psychology from the University at Buffalo and his law degree from Brooklyn Law School. Stephen worked as a Title Examiner for the Abstract Title Guarantee Company and then was an attorney for the Department of Veteran’s Affairs in Buffalo for 31 years before retiring in 1994. He was an active member and former commander of the American Legion Wheatfield Post #1451.

He had been a member of St. Johnsburg Fire Department, and had volunteered at Cardinal O’Hara. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church where he had been an usher and a Bingo and Field Day volunteer. He is the husband of Rosaline (nee Simko) Fezer; father of Stephen (Joli) Fezer, III of Rochester, Maryanna (David) Fezer-Stout of Lewiston, Peter (Kristen) Fezer of Bergholz, and the late Andrew Simon Fezer and Anna Marie Fezer; and grandfather of Brandon Fezer, Theo (Alisha) Fezer, Alex Fezer, and Drew Fezer.

Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 4-6 PM Friday at HAMP FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 37 Adam Street at Seymour, Tonawanda. If desired, memorials to the Niagara County SPCA, 2100 Lockport Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14304, or the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI), PO Box 146, Buffalo, NY 14223, are preferred by the family.
