Stephen’s Obituary Stephen James Parkhurst, 49, of Syracuse passed away on May 8th, 2019. Born in Oswego, he was the son of Gary Parkhurst and Mary (Smegelsky) Virginia. Stephen attended OCC and later graduated from Purchase College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Art.

He worked in the restaurant industry, as a waiter at Twin Tree’s in Solvay. His great love was Art. In additions to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Joshua (Joyce) Parkhurst of Rotterdam NY; nephews Tegan and Quin, and niece Ava Grace Parkhurst; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Calling hours will be Monday, May 13th from 9:30-11:30AM at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 West Albany, with a funeral service to follow at St. Joseph’s Church at Noon. Burial will be at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
