Obituary for Mr. Stephen Walter Zabawa Zabawa – Stephen Walter Zabawa, age 90, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away April 25, 2018 at St. Vincent’s Riverside Center for Caring in Jacksonville, Florida. He was born September 10, 1927 in Scranton, Pennsylvania to the late Walter Zabawa and Martha Rochon Zabawa. Stephen married the love of his life, Lorraine Zabawa, on September 15, 1948 and enjoyed a beautiful life together for over 68 years before Lorraine’s passing in 2017.

Stephen was a proud Marine who honorably served in the Corps from 1946-1948. He really enjoyed baseball, wrestling and music but also had a great love of animals and nature. More than anything Stephen had a passion for puzzles, he could sit for hours enjoying the challenge of finding just the right piece.

Stephen is survived by his son, Stephen (Sonya) Zabawa of Jacksonville & Macclenny, FL; brother, Michael (Nancy) Zabawa of Tewksbury, MA; sister, Dorothy (Ritchie) Padgett of Naples, FL. The family will hold a private memorial at a later date. The arrangements are under the care of V. Todd Ferreira Services, 250 N Lowder St., Macclenny, FL 32063.
