Obituary for Sterling F. Strause Sterling F. Strause, age 87, of Roseville, MN, formerly of Mequon, WI and Wild Rose, WI, passed away on Saturday, June 2nd, 2018. He was born in Summit Station, PA on January 4, 1931, a son of the late Charles and Susan (Brensinger) Strause. Sterling worked for General Electric as a chemist in R&D for many years.

While at GE he met Barbara, and they were married and had four children and lived in Mount Vernon, Indiana. Later, he went to work for W. H. Brady company in Milwaukee WI as Vice President of R&D and lived in Mequon WI. When he retired, he moved to Wild Rose, WI to a cabin on Wilson Lake.

He enjoyed generously hosting the family for lake weekends, Wisconsin Dells adventures and Disney World Vacations. He joined Saint John’s Lutheran Church in Saxeville, WI and enjoyed many years of joyful service there. He also worked with several organizations related to lake water quality and fishery health, worked with Habitat for Humanity and volunteered for many years at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, WI.

He was indeed a good and faithful servant of the Lord. Using Wild Rose as a base, he and Barbara traveled around the world and the United States. They vacationed winters in Tucson, Arizona, Fort Walton Beach, Florida, and Port Aransas, Texas.

He and Barbara always enjoyed the outdoors, and Dad especially liked walking and hiking. He and Barbara were also diehard Green Bay Packers fans. Survivors include his Children: Charles (Jayne) Strause, Shoreview, MN; Thomas Strause, Cedarburg, WI; James (Tammie) Strause, Mequon, WI; Mary (John) Dangler, Rochester, MN; Grandchildren: Nicholas (Chelsey) Strause, Tampa, FL; Stephanie Strause, Shoreview, MN; Jared Strause, Cedarburg, WI and Lauren Strause, Cedarburg, WI.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife – Barbara, daughter-in-law – Linda, grandson – Samuel Strause, siblings – Erma Ferrence, Charles Strause and Elsie Strause. Funeral Services will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Saxeville, WI at 11 AM on Friday, June 15th, 2018, with Rev. Rick Engen, officiating.

Interment will take place at Saxeville Union Cemetery, Town of Saxeville, Waushara Co., WI. Visitation will be held on Friday, from 9 AM until the time of the service at the church. Memorials can be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church in Saxeville.
