Steve’s Obituary Steve Asher Lewis, 43, of Laurel, IN, passed away Mar. 8, 2019 at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. Steve was born in Connersville, IN on April 1, 1975, a son of Thelma M (Richardson) Lewis and the late Richard M Lewis.

He married Amanda Lynn Steele Feb. 20, 2002, in Rushville. They shared three children and many years of happiness together.

Steve was an accomplished self employed stone mason. He had worked with Chris Strange at Strange Stone for many years. He was a loving son, husband and father.

His spirit and smile wold brighten anyone’s day. He was also a musician and loved playing his guitar. He played in a band with his brother and nephew and loved music!

He is survived by his wife Amanda and three children, Keith Mitchell Steele, Kurt Layne Lewis and Erin Marie Lewis; his mother, Thelma Lewis all of Laurel. Steve is also survived by two sisters, Debra (Scott) Koger, of Nineveh, IN; Tammy Lewis, of Connersville, IN; four brothers, Rick (Millie) Lewis, of Teague, TX; Larry Lewis (companion Angie Steele), of Everton, IN; Clinton (Aletia) Lewis, of Andersonville, IN; Richard (Misty Lewis) of Laurel. Steve was blessed by many nieces & nephews who will also miss him.

Preceding Steve in death was his father, Richard M. Lewis. A Celebration of Life will be 1:00 PM Mar. 13, 2019 at the Chapel Missionary Baptist Church 25161 US Hwy 52 Laurel, IN 47024.

Rev. Mike Coyle will officiate the service. Burial will follow the funeral at Hopewell Cemetery.

Viewing will be held 11 AM to 1:00 PM Mar. 13th at the church. Memorials to St. Vincent Hospital 2001 W. 86th St. Indianapolis, IN 46360 for the immense care provided to Steve and his family.
