Steven A. Saavedra, age 61, of Monroe, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at Beaumont Hospital in Wayne, Michigan. Born on September 26, 1957 in Ypsilanti, Michigan, he was the son of Charles Saavedra and Beverly (Harrison) Spalding. He was employed with Ford Motor Company as a Torque Inspector for 31 years until retiring in 2010.

Steven was a member of UAW Local 900. He enjoyed the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions, and the New England Patriots. He loved to listen to all styles of music, going to concerts, playing cards and being with his kids and grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his father Charles Saavedra, brother Donald Saavedra and sister Kimberly Haywood He is survived by his mother and step-father Beverly and Ronald Spalding of Canton; son Jesse Saavedra of Ann Arbor; daughters, Michele Lee Cruz of Belleville and Emily Saavedra of Lincoln, NE; 5 grandchildren; brother Joseph Saavedra of Fontana, CA; sisters Cheryl Saavedra of Dover, TN, Karen Saavedra of Monroe and Lisa (Finley) Britton of Kaiserslautern, Germany. Friends may visit in the Arthur Bobcean Funeral Home, Flat Rock Chapel on Saturday, May 25, 2019 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held at the Funeral Home on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 2:00 pm.

Rev. Kyle E. Jones will officiate the service. Cremation will follow.
