Steven F. Brebner, 65, of Bettendorf, Iowa passed away on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday evening at the funeral home.

In accordance with Steven’s wishes, cremation will take place following services and a private burial will be at a later date. Memorials may be directed in Steve’s memory to a charity of the donor’s choice. Steve was born on August 27, 1953 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Forrest and Jane (Hurlbert) Brebner.

On September 3, 1972, he married Barbara Rothert in Bettendorf. Steve worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Local 150. He also worked as a self-employed part time D.J. Steve enjoyed working with and training his dogs, as well as being outdoors whether it be golfing, boating, or duck hunting.

He is survived by his wife, Barb Brebner of Bettendorf; daughter: Elizabeth “Betsy” (Derek) Keibler of Indianapolis, Indiana; son, Andy (Ashley) Brebner of Bettendorf; parents, Forrest and Jane Brebner of Bella Vista, Arkansas; sisters, Debie (John) Routh of Iowa City, Iowa, Kris Lavengood of Bettendorf; a grandson, Alex, and a granddaughter expected in February; sisters-in-law, Sandy (Dennis) VanZandt, Karen Bashaw, all of Bettendorf; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
