Sudie “Sue” Hudson January 30, 1930 – January 02, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Sudie Ann (Gorum) Hudson, 88, of Corner/Warrior, Alabama, went to be with our Lord on January 2, 2019. Sue was born on January 30, 1930, to the late Thomas and Eula Mae Gorum in Georgiana, Alabama. She was married to the late Ardis (Hud) D. Hudson.

Sue is survived by her two daughters, Nancy Ann Hudson and Patti (Stephan / Bo) Clark, two grandsons; Craig Stephen Clark and David Hudson Clark, all from Warrior Alabama. She was preceded in death by brothers; Grover (Bedola) Gorum from Omaha, Nebraska, and Thomas G. (Linda) Gorum from Hayden, Alabama, and two sisters; Nadine Gorum Holly from Repton, Alabama, and Betty (Jasper) Gorum Traywick from Bessemer, Alabama. There were also numerous nieces and nephews.

Sue graduated Valedictorian from Georgiana High School and moved to Birmingham soon after to attend Alverson Draughon Business College and was later employed by Jefferson County. After Nancy was born, she became a full-time housewife. She was also an active member of the Pineywood Baptist Church in Gardendale, Alabama.

Sue and Hud were well known in the AKC Field Trial Community for their success in breeding and training of Field Trial Beagles. They finished several champions and were inducted into the Beagling Breeders Hall of Fame in recognition of the beagles they raised from the “Pine E Wood ” line. They were also members of several beagle clubs in Alabama.

Sue was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her favorite hobby was raising dachshund puppies and whelping/raising beagle puppies for beagle owners all over the United States. She also loved to work outside and always had a garden large enough to share with neighbors.

She was a long-time member at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Warrior, Alabama. Services for the celebration of her life will be at the Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home, 225 Dana Road, Warrior, Alabama, on Friday, January 4, 2019, with visitation from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM followed by the funeral at 12:00 PM.

Graveside services will be held at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church located at 2427 Corner Road, Warrior, Alabama.
