Susan’s Obituary Susan Elaine Black, 59, of Denton, Texas passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2019. She was born in Houston, Texas on September 15, 1959 to Jack and Ann Park. Susan was a wonderfully outgoing person who loved spending time with her boys, grandchildren, and her puppy dogs.

She loved to attend festivals, listen to live music, and enjoy the occasional cocktail. Susan had an incredible talent for all things crafting, cooking, and gardening. While enjoying her time in North Texas, she still found a way to keep in close contact with her mom, brother, and family in Houston.

Becoming “Memaw” was one of the highlights of her life. She was an amazing mom who did a wonderful job raising her two boys. She loved everyone she met and was shown so much love in return.

Susan will be missed and remembered by those who knew and loved her as a wonderful Mom, daughter, sister, Memaw, and friend. She is preceded in death by her dad, Jack Park, her sister, Elizabeth “Sissy” Sumrow, and the love of her life, Casey Hudson. She was survived by her mother, Ann Park; her mother-in-law, Barbara Hudson; her two sons, Clarke Brizendine and his wife, Amber, Brian Brizendine and his wife, Taylor; her brother, John Park and his wife, Caron; her three grandchildren Kylie, Bryce, and Berkley; nephews, Taylor Park and Jack Sumrow; niece, Katie Park; and her dog, Lucky.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019 from 2pm – 4pm at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas. To honor Susan’s wishes, she will be cremated and laid to rest with her husband at a later date.
