Susan’s Obituary Janet Susan McCaughtry, of Chickasha, OK, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 in Oklahoma City, OK at the age of 71. She was born March 14, 1947 in Chickasha to Fred and Doris (O’Bar) Wood. Susan has lived in Chickasha her entire life.

She graduated from Chickasha High School in 1965 and then graduated from USAO. During college she was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma, was an Em Hi Pledge in 1965 and she served as president of the Young Republicans chapter in 1966. She taught at Chickasha Public Schools, Head Start, and Verden Public Schools for 30 years before retiring.

She married Michael McCaughtry on August 28, 1970 in Chickasha. She was a member of the St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. She is preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Patricia Lewis and Dr. Donna Wood, DDS.

Susan is survived by her husband, Michael McCaughtry; Son, Michael McCaughtry II; and Brother, Joe Wood.
