Our dear daughter, Sue Ayres passed away Friday, June 22, 2018 at home in Kaysville, Utah surrounded by her family. She fought a good fight against cancer and finally was given relief. Susan was born March 16, 1953 in Provo, Utah daughter of Leon Henry Heaps and Mary Jane Homer Heaps.

She was proud of her military family living many places around the world. Graduated from Winston Churchill High School in San Antonio, Texas, and attended BYU. Married Richard J. Ayres, had three children.

She shared her love for crafts, music and other talents with many friends and family, was an avid sports fans. She worked for Murdock Chevrolet and planned the Murdock Appreciation Golf Tournament for many years. Susan was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many in callings.

She is survived by her sons, Richard Riley Ayres, San Diego, CA; Brandon Clark Ayres (Katie), Longview, TX; parents Leon and Janie Heaps; brother Mitchell; sisters Cynthia Noorda (Carey); Nanette Ramsey, Teresa Nielsen (Darin); grandson Hayden James and granddaughter Brittney Christine Ayres; Uncle Russell Homer (Elaine) and many nieces, nephews, cousin and special friends. Preceded on death by her daughter Brittney Anne Ayres and grandparents. Special thanks Dr. Cannon, Dr. Buys and Hospice nurse Debbie Thaxton, caregivers and many friends and neighbors.

A Celebration of Susan’s life will be held Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd. , with private family visitation from 9:30 to 10:30. Interment Kaysville City Cemetery.
