Obituary for Susanna A. Verhoff Susanna A. ‘Sue’ Verhoff, 86, of Delphos, passed away Friday afternoon, February 23, 2018, at The Meadows of Kalida. Her Family…. She was born May 7, 1931 in Delphos to Arthur J. and Bertha T. (Sendelbach) Humpert, who both preceded her in death.

On April 30, 1955, she married Charles J. Verhoff, who preceded her in death on February 19, 2010. Sue is survived by three sons, Charles (Ruth) Verhoff Jr. of Delphos, Ted (Sue) Verhoff of Ft. Jennings and Robert (Kathy) Verhoff of Columbus Grove; a daughter, Bridget (Gary) Burgei of Troy; a sister, Therese (Dennis) Ricker of Tipp City; thirteen grandchildren, Jennifer (Scott) Kelty, Michael Verhoff, Stephanie (Dennis) Moenter, Andrew (Krystal) Burgei, Kaitlyn Burgei, Benjamin Burgei, Amanda (Kyle) Schimmoeller, Lauren (Trevor) VonSossan, Nicholas Verhoff, and Joshua, Ryan, Seth and Noah Verhoff; great-grandchildren, Callen and Braydon Kelty, Brantley Moenter and Henry and Mary Sue Schimmoeller; and a sister-in-law, Wilma Humpert.

She was also preceded in death by an infant son, Edward A. Verhoff; a brother, Robert Humpert; and in-laws, Earl and Marilyn Lause. Her Legacy…. Sue was a 1949 graduate of Delphos St. John’s.

She was a homemaker who belonged to the Mother’s Club and Delphos St. John’s PTA when her children were active at St. John’s. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Delphos. Sue dearly loved to babysit her grandkids.

Her Farewell Services. … Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 27, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, the Rev. Charles Obinwa officiating.

Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Monday, February 26, at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth St., Delphos, where a Parish Wake Service will be held at 7:54 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Parish Foundation, St. Jude’s or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
