Mathison, age 59, of Iron River, MI, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at her home. She was born on July 29, 1959 in Stambaugh, MI, the daughter of the Lawrence “Red” and Molly Jeffers. She attended the Iron River Schools, graduating from West Iron County in 1977.

She then attended Central Michigan University and earned a Bachelor’s Degree. Suzanne married Bradford Mathison on February 8, 1992 at the Lutheran Church of the Wilderness in Bowler, WI. The couple made their home in Wisconsin and celebrated their 22nd wedding anniversary in 2014.

Bradford preceded her in death on November 18, 2014. She was employed as social worker for Marathon County, WI for 30 years. She enjoyed gardening, crafting, soap making, and reading.

Her love for those around her made her a friend to many. Suzanne is survived by her parents, Red and Molly Jeffers of Iron River; daughter, Emma (Derrick McLean) Mathison of St. Paul, MN; brothers, Robert (Rob) Jeffers of Detroit, MI and Rickie (Diane) Jeffers of Bozeman, MT; and niece and nephew, Melissa and Steven Jeffers of Montana. Visitation will be held Saturday, June 8, 2019 from 10:30 to 11:30 am at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Iron River.

Funeral services will follow at 11:30 am with Rev. Manuel Padilla to officiate.
