Maria B. Meneguzzo May 11, 1935 – May 12, 2019 Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card| Memorial Donation Maria Barbara Meneguzzo, age 84, of Clearwater, FL, formerly of Marquette, MI, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2019 surrounded by her family. Maria was born on May 11, 1935 in Cologne, Germany, the daughter of the late Joseph and Barbara (Hausmann) Schmitt. She attended the Escanaba Schools, graduating from Escanaba High School in 1954.

She then attended Mount Mary College in Milwaukee, WI, graduating in 1958. She later attended Northern Michigan University in Marquette, graduating in 1970 with her Master’s Degree in Education. She was employed as a teacher for 22 years.

Maria married Hermann Schubert and he preceded her in death in 1963. She later married Mario Meneguzzo on August 21, 1969 in Marquette and the happy couple made their home in Marquette. Mario and Maria celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary in 2017, before Mario preceded her in death on May 29, 2018.

She is survived by her sons, Al (Debbie Goelz) Schubert of Clearwater, FL, Mark (Pam Bielat) Schubert of Jackson, GA, and James Meneguzzo of Athens, GA; daughters, Kim (Meneguzzo) Kallenberg of Seal Beach, CA and Kristine Meneguzzo of Marquette; brother, Hubert Schmitt of Ellensburg, WA; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and extended family. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Annelie Rink. A Liturgy of the Word service will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River with Rev.

Gregory Veneklase to officiate. Interment will be in Stambaugh Cemetery, Iron River.
