Suzanne P. Bell, age 89 and a resident of Lakemoor, passed away on Wednesday, August 22, at 5:57 a.m., in Centegra Hospital, McHenry. Born in Nice, France on December 4, 1928, Suzanne was one of three daughters born to Francois Rosetti and Emma (nee Depot) Rosetti. Suzanne attended schools in France and worked as a legal secretary, after attending business school.
It was in France, where Suzanne would meet John Frank Bell, a US Navy Sailor. Their relationship blossomed when Suzanne attended a USO event aboard John’s ship. Madly in love, twenty-two-year-old Suzanne made the bold, brave decision to join John in the United States and the two were wed in Chicago on May 7, 1952.
The couple made their lives in Chicago initially where John found himself working for R.R. Donnelley. His position there brought them to Warsaw, IN where the couple built a home on nearby Tippecanoe Lake. Following a battle with cancer, John preceded Suzanne in passing on October 30, 2005.
Taking life’s challenges in stride, Suzanne was a steadfast person who was full of joy. She was always appreciative of nature and her surroundings; even through Alzheimer’s Disease and kidney cancer, Suzanne would take notice of things most people might overlook or take for granted. A brave woman with a fabulous sense of humor, Suzanne enjoyed cooking and was quite good at it.
She was a woman of faith, formerly a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw, IN, and a member of Joyful Harvest Lutheran Church, Johnsburg. Those left with memories to cherish include her daughters: Annie Rosene, Lakemoor and Denise (husband, Joe) Bernard of Fountain Hills, AZ; son: J.C (wife, Iryna) Bell of Fountain Hills, AZ and five grandchildren: Jessica Suzanne (husband, Justin) Anthony, Goodyear, AZ, Anthony Rosene, Camp Lake, WI, Rachael-Anne Rosene, Lakemoor, Joseph (wife, Michele) Rosene, Round Lake Beach, and Matthew Rosene, Lakemoor. Also surviving are five great-grandchildren and a special cousin, Josianne Rosetti, New York.
In addition to her husband, her parents and two sisters: Annie Bois and Denise Cavalieri preceded Suzanne in passing. Friends may join family for a time of visitation on Tuesday, August 28, from 2 to 3 p.m. at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 East Sheridan St., Warsaw, IN. A funeral service, celebrated by Dr. Douglas Liston of Joyful Harvest Lutheran Church, will begin at 3 p.m. Burial will follow in Warsaw’s Oakwood Cemetery.
