Sylvan M. Pinto, 84, of Greensburg, died peacefully Sunday, December 16, 2018, in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Richeyville, a son of the late Sylvan M. Pinto and Mary Stefan Pinto. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Greensburg.

Prior to retirement, he was a school teacher for Clairton High School and later worked for Jostens as a salesman. He was a former member and treasurer of the Elizabeth Township Lions Club and was a former president of Clairton School District Teachers Union. He enjoyed playing racquetball and watching the Steelers and Pirates.

Sylvan loved spending time with his family and adored his 4 grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Gloria Linn Pinto; his children; Stacy Pinto Bourne (Les) of San Antonio, TX, Sylvan M. “Chip” Pinto III (Diane) of Greensburg and Aimee Pinto Heasley (Daryl) of Latrobe; 2 sisters, Donna Kerestan (John) of Belle Vernon, Linda Aaron (Butch) of Washington, PA; brothers, Perry Pinto (Dorothy) of Washington and Ed Weekley (Carol) of Beallsville; his 4 grandchildren, Amanda Barbour (Tom), Sylvan M. “Sonny” Pinto IV (Alexa), Bailey Miller (Alex) and Kethrie Linn Heasley; also, a number of nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, December 19, from 4 to 8 P.M. at Kepple-Graft Funeral Home, 524 North Main Street, Greensburg.

Parting prayers will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, December 20, at 9:30 A.M. followed by Sylvan’s funeral mass at 10 am in Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Interment will follow in St. Clair Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
