Sylvia Sprance, age 100, of Mayfield passed away on May 20, 2019 at Nathan Littauer Nursing Home, her loving daughter by her side. She was born March 5, 1919 in Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of the late, Morris and Dora Stein Apar. Sylvia spent most of her life in Brooklyn.

She and her husband John moved to Mayfield in 1975 to be closer to their daughters and grandchildren. Sylvia was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1947 and was an active member of the Gloversville congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She spent many hours teaching others of the Bible’s promise of a paradise earth.

She was confident that even if she died she would be restored to life when this earth is once again a paradise. Survivors include her daughters, Lois Gulotta and her husband Nat of Mayfield, and Linda Erickson and her husband Ray of Fishkill, NY; grandchildren, Corina Gabriel, Shane Gulotta(Jessica) and Dawn Crankshaw(John); great grandchildren, Damiana, Isabella and Sofia Crankshaw. She is also survived by a sister Miriam Weiner of Florida.

A memorial service will take place at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 126 S. Kingsboro Ave, Gloversville NY 12078, on Friday, May 31, 2019 at 1pm, the talk will be given by Nat Gulotta.
