Tate Meade, 95, passed away Thursday, September 20, 2018 at the Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Healthcare Center. Tate was the son of the late Oliver ‘”Twist” and Dessie Bauguess Meade. He was the widower of Opha Meade.

Surviving is his children: Verdell Meade (Sherry) of Flemingsburg, Ky. , Richard Meade (Earnestine) of Flemingsburg, Ky. , Barbara Getz (Jim) of Florence, In.

, Kenny Meade (Diana) of Independence, Ky. , Lanny Meade (Tammy) of Hallie, Ky. , Linda Caudill (Bob) of Cornettsville, Ky.

, and Rodney Meade (Tammy) of Pound, Va. ; 19 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren along with a host of brothers, sisters, and other relatives and friends to mourn his passing. Tate was preceded in death by 1 grandchild: John Tate Caudill; 1 great grandchild: Jason Spencer and a host of brothers and sisters.

Funeral: 6:00 O’clock P.M. Saturday, September 22, 2018 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bill Jones officiating. Visitation: 5:00 P.M. Saturday at the Letcher Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Flemingsburg, Ky.
