Obituary for Terry L. “Swede” Harvey Terry L. “Swede” Harvey, 72, of Fremont, died on December 24, 2018 at UNMC in Omaha. Memorial services will be on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Solt-Wagner Funeral Home in Central City with Pastor Mark Hartley officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday, December 29th from noon until service time at Solt-Wagner Funeral Home.

Terry was born on January 1, 1946 to Roy and Clara Harvey in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He was 1 of 7 children. When his mother, Clara passed away from cancer in 1952, Roy had to place his children at the ages of, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1 into the orphanage run by the Sioux Falls Children Home Society.

As the owner of a carnival he was unable to raise the children alone. They were adopted by various parents, but were reunited in 1974. Terry was a retired over the road truck driver.

He loved to take care of his yard, which he took great pride in do. He always enjoyed a good laugh, as well as fishing, and made several trips to Glendo, WY with his son-in-law Rick, to do so. Terry married Ronda Jean Hobbs on October 9, 1964 and to this union two children were born; Lanny Harvey and Dawn (Harvey) Bodily.

Ronda passed away after a valiant battle with cancer in 1989. Terry then met Roylene McDonald in 2007 and they were married on October 17, 2009. She was the love of his life, and spent every day with him until he passed away in his hospital bed.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children; Lanny Harvey of Fremont, NE and Dawn and Rick (Harvey) Bodily of Glendo, WY, his stepchildren; Shane and Tina Fedde of Columbus, NE and Troy and Heather Fedde of Goodyear, AZ, his siblings; Bonnie Edwards of Greenwood, SC, Dennis and JoAnne Lynch of Chapman, NE, Edwin “Dutch” and Carolyn Harvey of Harlington, TX, Patricia and Gordon Parker of Merrill, IA, Kathryn Stevens of Sioux Falls, SD, Charlotte and Ken Smith of McKinney, TX, and Trudi Bryson of Reno, NV; 9 Grandchildren and 5 Great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father; Roy Harvey, his step-mothers; Louise Harvey and Rose Marie Taylor; and sister; Starlett Weise.
