Mr. Thad Jones Jr. age 80, a native of Marengo County, resident of Jackson, was born January 30, 1938 to the late Thad Jones, Sr. and Annie Ree Moore Jones. He departed this life October 1, 2018 at the Washington County Nursing Home, Chatom, AL. He was a member of the Star of Zion A.M.E. Church of Jackson where he served as a Steward and Trustee.

Thad retired from Cibey after more than 25 years of work. He leaves to cherish his precious memories three daughters; Sharon (Theodore) Howze, Regina (Elmore) Creer of Jackson, AL, Theresa (Percy) Butler of Mobile, AL. , four sons; Jerome (Gladys) Jones, Michael (Denise) Jones, Thad (Rose) Jones 111 and Maurice (Christina) Jones all of Jackson, AL.

, two sisters-in-law, Mary (Tommy) Morris of Boston, MA. and Flora Jean Wiley of Jackson, AL. , brother-in-law Tommie L. Wiley of Saraland, AL.

, Twenty grandghildren, two devoted, which he raised, Darice and Cecilly;Twenty-eight great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren with a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held Sunday Oct. 7, 2018 from the Star of Zion A.M.E. Church, Jackson, AL.

, with Rev. Carrie Ervin Pastor and Eulogist. Interment will be in the Sidney Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church Cemetery, Council, AL.
