She was born July 14, 1930, in Sevier County, Tennessee, to Pink and Victoria (Snapp) King. Thelma is preceded in death by her first husband, Guy Rice.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Rice; her son, Thomas Rice (Suzette); her daughter, Mary F. Rice; her sister, Virginia Morgan; her grandchildren, John Manning, Andrew Rice, and Preston Rice; and her great-grandchildren Drew and Morgan Manning. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 22, 2018, at Rawlings Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 p.m.. Graveside services will follow at Middle Creek Cemetery.
