OBITUARY Thelma Vaughan Wood October 11, 1930 – January 2, 2019 Thelma Garnet Vaughan Wood of Richmond, Virginia was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 2, 2019. She was 88 years old. Thelma or those who lovingly called her Mom, Grand Ma or Nana are left to cherish her memory.

She is survived by her three children Don Wood, Jr, Linda Gail Wood (Wayne) and Deborah Lynne Wood Williams (Floyd) all of Richmond, Virginia. She was the proud Grandmother (Nana) to seven grandchildren Heather Jo Trivette, Crystal Wood, Brandon Wood, Robert Wood, Shawn Sellers, Michelle Sellars Fletcher and Emily Lauren Williams; 11 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great Great Grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Thelma was born October 11, 1930 in Caroline County, Va and was the daughter of Charles Earnest and Minnie Leigh Vaughan. She was the youngest daughter of eight children (4 boys and 4 girls) all who have preceeded her in death. Thelma was a member of Chamberlayne Heights United Methodist Church.

She loved the Lord with all her heart and was a wonderful example of Gods Love. She enjoyed spending time with her family reminiscing about growing up on the farm and living in Caroline County. She loved flowers and birds and all the wonderful gifts God has provided.

In lieu of flowers the family is suggesting a donation be made in her memory to Dementia Research. A graveside service will be held at St Paul’s Episcopal Church at Hanover Court House on Friday, January 4, 2019 at 12:00 Noon. On a special note we would like for Heather Jo to know that your Grandmother never stopped thinking of you and she loved you with all her heart.
