MASSIE, William Robert (Bill), Age 89, of Mechanicsville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 2, 2019. Bill served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was stationed at Fort Lee. After his service he worked as a buyer for Richfood where he established his career with 35+ years of loyal service.

Bill enjoyed fishing and loved to travel to Disney World and Nags Head with his family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Massie; and daughter, Linda Harless. He is survived by his son, Kenneth Massie; granddaughters; Wendy Atkins (Billy), Whitney Simpson (Tyler) and Angela Massie.

In lieu of funeral services, and to honor Bill’s life we ask that all who wish to participate, make a donation to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Virginia Chapter, or The American Parkinson Disease Association in Bill’s name.
