Obituary for Theresa J. Shilinskas Theresa J. Shilinskas 1926 – 2018 Theresa J. (Soliwocki) Shilinskas, 92, died peacefully on November 8, 2018, at River Glen Health Center in Southbury, CT Theresa was born April 23, 1926, the daughter of Johanna (Dlugokeki) and Kazimer Soliwocki. Theresa was a life-long resident of Naugatuck and a graduate of St. Hedwig’s School and Naugatuck High School. She was employed as a secretary at the Uniroyal Chemical for 38 years.

In retirement, Theresa enjoyed playing the piano for friends and family, occasional trips to the Casino, and breakfast at Burnsie’s Coffee Shop each morning until poor health interrupted her routine. She was a communicant at St. Hedwig’s Church until its closing. Theresa was predeceased in 2007 by her husband, Vito Shilinskas, who was the love of her life.

Theresa’s parents; her brothers, Hipolyte and Chester; her sister, Betty, her niece, Annette Soliwocki and her sister-in-law, Gladys (Harrison) Soliwocki also predeceased her. She is survived by her niece, Gayle Smith, of Laurel, Maryland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, November 16, 2018, at 11:00am at St. Hedwig’s Church, 32 Golden Hill Street, Union City.

Calling hours are Friday from 9:30am -10:30am at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery. In lieu of flowers and to honor Theresa’s memory contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Dr, Wallingford, CT 06492.
