Thomas A. “Butch” Sims Sylacauga, AL – Funeral service for Thomas A. “Butch” Sims, 72, will be Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 1:00 p.m., in the Radney-Smith Chapel, with Rev. Max Buttram officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Sylacauga, AL.

Mr. Sims died Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Bill Nichols State Veterans Home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald E. and Dot Sims; brother, Benny S. Sims; and brother, Larry G. “Big Shot” Sims, Sr.. He was a member of the First Baptist of Oak Grove.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968, which included a tour in Vietnam. Mr. Sims worked for Kimberly Clark/Bowater, where he retired after 35 years. Mr. Sims is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Pam Sims; son, Greg Sims; daughter, Carrie-Anne Sims; brother, Gerald W. Sims Sr.; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 7, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions be sent to The American Kidney Fund. (www.
