Thomas A. McDonald, Jr., 71, of Keyport, NJ passed away Wednesday, February 20th, at home. Thomas was born in Long Branch, New Jersey on October 24, 1947, a son of the late Rose (Stein) and Thomas McDonald, Sr. Thomas lived in Matawan most of his life moving to Keyport five years ago. He was a high school wrestler at Madison Township High School, then attended the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York.

He then started his career working for Bamberger’s Department Store in Newark, he then went on to spend over 33 years working for Paul Stuart Fine Clothing in New York City. Thomas loved spending his time cooking and baking. He also enjoyed going to the theatre and singing.

One special love he had were dogs. Thomas is also survived by his cherished sisters, Rose Siniscal, of Matawan and Mary Marvel of Plano, Texas and a devoted brother, Eugene McDonald, of Matawan, NJ. Thomas is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held 2 PM to 7 PM on Sunday, February 24th at Day Funeral Home in Keyport, New Jersey . Visitation will also be held 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM on Monday, February 25th at Day Funeral Home in Keyport, New Jersey. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Clements RC Church at 10:30am Monday.

Cremation will be private.
