Thomas A. Walleck, Jr, 71, of Canonsburg passed away unexpectedly on Thursday September 6, 2018. He was born September 12, 1946 in Canonsburg the son of the late Thomas A. and Angeline Lucciola Walleck. Mr. Walleck was a graduate of Canon McMillan High School Class of 1964.
He received his Associate Degree in Accounting from Robert Morris University in 1966. For more than fifty years he was employed as a parts manager for John Deere at various dealerships in the area; most recently at Middletown Tractor Sales in Washington. Mr. Walleck always exhibited a professional presence while speaking on the phone and meeting the needs of his customers, family and friends.
Always punctual, you knew that you could set your watch by his daily activities. He was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Canonsburg all of his life, attending mass regularly while praying for all that he knew. He would drive through St. Patrick Cemetery almost every day, stopping to pray for his departed family and friends.
He was a passionate sports fan who loved to follow college and high school wrestling, Steelers Football and Pirates Baseball. He would often have a radio near his ear listening to one game while watching another sports event on TV. He believed in the power of prayer and prayed for his family members constantly.
The most important thing in his life was the love of his family and spending time with them. On November 6, 1971 in St. Patrick Church, he married Deborah J. Thomas with whom he recently celebrated forty-six years of marriage. Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters Janet (Steve Dibert) Walleck of Canonsburg, Tricia (Randy) Baum of Canonsburg and one son Thomas Joseph “TJ” (Marie) Walleck of Canonsburg and two brothers Philip (Tracy) Walleck of Canton, OH and Paul (Robert Walton) Walleck of Palm Springs, CA.
Also surviving are eight grandchildren Austin, Joshua, Colten, and Jonathon Walleck, Alexa and Nicholas Baum and Aidan and Dominic Dibert and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother John Alexander Walleck. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday in Mario L. DeAngelo Funeral Home at 194 East College Street in Canonsburg.
Departing Prayers will be held in the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday September 12, 2018 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. in St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Canonsburg. Interment will be held privately at a later date in St. Patrick Cemetery. A guestbook is available at www.
