Thomas D. Brennan, age 88 of Massillon, passed away Monday, April 30, 2018 following a brief illness. He was born June 18, 1929, in Lima the son of the late Cletus and Katherine (Shaw) Brennan. Tom was a veteran of the Army serving during the Korean Conflict.

Thomas was self employed owning his own company, Advanced Coffee Concepts. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council #554, 3rd degree. He was formerly a long time member of St. Barbara Catholic Church where he served on various committees and was a lector and cantor.

Tom served as a Massillon City Councilman for 10 years and was a member of the Planning Commission. He was instrumental in planning and developing the first 18 holes of The Legends Golf Course. Thomas is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Sheila and Mitch Ciccarone of Canton, Julia and Bill Mossor of Massillon; sons, Thomas and Deanna Brennan of Alabama, John Brennan and Beth Gaglione of North Carolina, and Don and Laurie Brennan of Massillon; grandchildren, Torie and Paige Ciccarone, Erica and Jared Brennan, Taylor, Connor and Parker Brennan, and Mary Lou and Carmella Brennan, and sister Sheila K. Silone of Lima.

He was preceded in death by wife, Mary Louise (Schimpf) Brennan, infant son Brian Gerard Brennan, twin brother William and brother Robert Brennan. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 9:30 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 322 3rd St SE, Massillon with Revs. Raymond Paul and Thomas Cebula celebrants.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 4, 2018 from 5 to 8 P.M. at Heitger Funeral Home Massillon Chapel, 639 1st St NE, Massillon. Burial to follow the service at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens in North Canton. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Right to Life of Stark County.
