Thomas Dwight Cain, 80, of Eastover passed away on Monday, December 3, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, C.B. and Doris Cain; brother, Dick Cain, sister, Donna Gail Cain; a wife, Lynda Lewis Cain. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Barbara Alexander Cain; sons, Stephen Cain and Lewis Cain (Jackie); a daughter Anelisa Cain Freeman; a brother, William R. “BIll” Cain; 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Tom was the owner and operator of Cain Plumbing from 1968-1990; he also worked at Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery and then retired from the Cumberland County Sheriff Department as the Crossing Guard Supervisor. In his retired years, he was instrumental in the Senior Citizen Community, serving on many boards around the area. Tom became the Bluebird Coordinator for the Sandhills and enjoyed teaching others how to build homes for the bluebirds along the Cape Fear Riverwalk.

And many will know him as Santa for many years in the area. A funeral service will be held at 1 pm Monday, December 10, 2018 in Rogers and Breece Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11:45 am to 12:45 pm prior to the service.
