OBITUARY Thomas Elmo Holt September 16, 1946 – November 12, 2018 Thomas E. Holt, 72, of Loogootee, Indiana formerly of Terre Haute, passed away at 3:00 p.m. Monday, November 12, 2018 at his home. He was born September 16, 1946 in Washington, Indiana to the late Dwight and Lola (Townsend) Holt. Tom graduated from Wiley High School in 1964.

While he was in high school, he participated in baseball, football, basketball and track. After high school he joined the United States Navy and served his country for three years. He then was employed by Eli Lilly for 30 years as a lab assistant and worked in fermentation.

He enjoyed playing Texas Holdem and playing men’s senior league baseball. He loved outdoor actives such as mushroom hunting, fishing, boating and golfing. He adored spending time with his family, friends and grandsons.

He loved eating breakfast at the local diners with the guys. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Dwight and Lola (Townsend) Holt; niece, Morgan Holt. He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Mary (Kern) Holt; children, Jason (Amanda) Holt and Kristi (David) Pruitt; grandsons, Evan W. Holt and Thomas M. Holt; siblings, Patty (Dennis) Kane and David Holt.

Visitation will be held Saturday, November 17, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Mattox-Wood Funeral Home in Terre Haute. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made Helping Hearts Hospice or the IU Simon Cancer Center Research Program. Condolences may be made online at www.
