Obituary for Thomas J. Harclerode Thomas J. “Tom” Harclerode, 89, of Everett, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, September 15th, 2018. He was born Saturday, February 23rd, 1929 in Everett, a son of the late Thomas C. Harclerode and Alberta Susanna (Schetrompf) Harclerode. On January 4th, 1992 he married his loving wife Kathleen M. (Snyder) Harclerode who survives along with his daughter, Linda C. Butts and husband Ronald Butts of Williamsport, Maryland A son, William A. “Billy” Harclerode, of Falling Waters, WV Three stepchildren, Kristi Cameron and husband Colin Cameron of Ashburn, Virginia Andrea Kelliher and husband Joe Kelliher of Centreville, Virginia Bentley Conner of Corinth, Texas, 3 grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 3 step great-grandchildren, a sister, Colleen Lapp of Cumberland, a brother, Jack Harclerode, a half sister, Marcella Harclerode of Johnstown, three half brothers, Joseph Harclerode of Punxsutawney, Roger Harclerode of Florida, and Mark Harclerode, a sister-in-law, Sue Harclerode of Lancaster, and a step-daughter-in-law, Pam Conner, of North Fort Myers, Florida, In addition to his parents, he was preceded in passing away by a brother Richard Harclerode, a brother-in-law, Ray Lapp, and a stepson, Jere Conner, Mr. Harclerode attended the Everett United Methodist Church and truly loved sharing the truth of God’s word and His creation of the heavens, earth and everything within.
A graduate of Everett High School, Class of 1946, Tom enlisted in the United States Navy after graduation, serving for 3 years as an Electronics Technician (Radar) Petty Officer 3rd Class. His stations and vessels included Pittsburgh; Great Lakes, Illinois; Anacostia, DC; Washington, DC; Brooklyn, NY and the USS Amphion, earning him the World War II Victory Medal. While serving in the United States Navy Reserve, Tom attended the University of Pittsburgh, was employed with Fairchild Industries, and later worked as a supervisor at Mack Truck in Hagerstown until retiring.
He enjoyed hunting, golfing at Down River Golf Course and was an avid amateur HAM radio operator under the Call Sign W3AMX. Tom loved spending time with his family, his friends at the morning “Coffee Club” and will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held Friday, September 21st, 2018 at 11:00 am in the Chapel at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Main Street, Everett, with Chaplain Bruce Maxwell officiating.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday 4:00 to 6:00 pm, on Friday from 10:00 am until the hour of service and share memories online at www. dallavalle-everett.com. Full Military Honors will be conducted by the Everett Honor Guard.
