Thomas T. Simpson, 83, of Holden, Missouri, passed away Friday January 25, 2019 at the Kansas City Hospice House, Kansas City, Missouri. Thomas was born January 29, 1935 in Richland, Missouri, the son of Bryan E. Simpson and Nellie (Coyle)Simpson. Thomas served six years in the United States Air Force and was a member of the Holden VFW Post 5844.

Thomas was united in marriage to Lera T. Gillespie on August 3, 1957 in Richland, MO. they moved to Holden in 1971. Thomas worked for AT&T for 27years.

Thomas loved living on the farm and raising a large garden which he loved to share with neighbors and friends. He also loved to hunt, fish, and watch the Chiefs games and most of all he loved his dog, KC. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Lera; three sons Larry Simpson and wife Barbara of Harrisonville, MO, Bryan Simpson, Kansas City MO, Richard and wife Teresa, Lee’s Summit, MO; six Grandchildren, Tyler, Jenny, Christina, Joe, William, and Lera; Ten Great Grandchildren, Trenton, Logan, Emma, Karah, Madison, Nathan, Nolan, Taylor, Christian, and Tucker.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Donna Faye. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Thomas Simpson to Kansas City Hospice House, KCMO in care of the funeral home. Pallbearers are Rick Simpson, William Simpson, Tyler Kartright, Gary Gillespie, Jerry Hubbard, Joe Simpson Honorary Pallbearers are Mike Deaver and Donnie Hufford Friends may call Wednesday January 30, 2019 10:00am to 11:00am at Ben Cast & Son-Wood Funeral Home, 407 South Pine, Holden MO 64040.

Funeral services will follow on January 30, 2019 at 11:00am at Ben Cast & Son-Wood Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Wakeman officiating. Interment will be a Gilbert Cemetery, SW T Highway and SW 600 RD following the service with Military Honors provided by the VFW Post 5844 and the American Legion Post 90 of Holden, Missouri.
