Tom was born on February 8, 1924 in Archer, Nebraska to Ray Elmer and Ina Elvira (Anderson) Shull. He grew up in Archer and graduated from Archer High School in 1942. Tom served in the United States Army.

He then married Edna Mae Blauhorn on April 6, 1947 at the Archer Zion United Methodist Church. The couple farmed north of Central City in the Fairview area. They then moved to the farm they purchased southwest of Archer in 1956.

The couple moved to their home in Central City in 1976. Tom was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church. He was a Clerk of Prairie Creek Township.

He also served on the boards of Merrick County Weed District and School District 28. Tom was a member of the American Legion Post #6 in Central City. Tom enjoyed farming, nature, the out of doors, and visiting with friends.

He is survived by his wife- Edna of Central City, NE; one daughter- Glenna and Terry Trosper of Ankeny, IA; three grandchildren- Christopher (Sarah), Matthew (Maria), and Amanda; and seven great grandchildren Tom is preceded in death by his parents; one son- Roger Wayne; four brothers- Raymond, Donald, Gerald, and Kenneth.
