Obituary of Thomas Coble Thomas David Coble, age 76, of Asheboro went home to his Savior on Christmas Day, Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at Randolph Hospice House. Mr. Coble was born December 20, 1942 in Alamance County to Robert and Lillie Coble. David was a simple man who adored his family, old westerns, and Johnny Cash.

David spent his free time getting coffee with his best friend, cheering on the Panthers, and watching NASCAR races. David was an avid television watcher and his favorites included the Looney Toons, MASH, and The Three Stooges. He was a US Navy Seabee veteran and served proudly in Vietnam.

David was a former member of the Randolph County Honor Guard. He was a member of Brower’s Memorial Wesleyan Church and was formerly employed with Alamance Memorial Hospital and Builders Discount Furniture. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Efird.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Anne Petty Coble; daughter, Renee Mothershed and husband Bobby of Farmer; grandchildren, Cassie VanNuys and husband Doug of Danville, VA, Britt Coble and wife Elizabeth of Gastonia, Marissa Coble of Bronx, NY; step-grandchildren, Barbara Mothershed of Farmer, Jimmy Mothershed of Farmer; great grandchildren, Trinity, Alyssa, Jacob, Peyton, and Wyatt; step-great grandchildren, Dameon and Tierney; sisters, Jean Prince of Charlotte, Sarah Ingram of High Point; brother, John Coble and wife Margie of Burlington. The family will receive friends Friday, December 28, 2018 from 6 – 8 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC and other times at his home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bryant Madren officiating.

Burial with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday in the Cross Roads Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Mebane.
